I went to Volcanoes National Park with a woman from NYC who was doing portraits of people. She wanted to go and offer a blessing to Pele, so off we went.
Of course, we were not walking faster than 15 mph over the lava.

Driving home one day, I saw an arrowhead in the clouds pointing up to my home.

There was another nite when we had fires just east of us in the hills. Another fire set by people who don't want to see too much new building in our area.

One day, while driving down the highway to Kona, I got this shot of Maui off in the distance, the deep blue waters and the shallower aqua waters near the shore. Plus, you get to see the lava rock that is so prevalent on the Big Island.

Another feral cat, we named Zoe, has been coming around to be fed each nite. We think she is from the same litter as Keoki since they do not really fight with each other. Zoe must be a girl since she is so much smaller than Keoki. She is still pretty wild since she hisses at me when I put food into the dish and will try to scratch me before coming to the food.

These are shots of Hualalai, another dormant volcano south of where we live. We have even gotten to see snow on Mauna Kea after a storm this year. It only lasted for about a day and then melted away.

Sunday with the monk seal

So Scot and I went up to Mahukona Sunday morning to go for a dive at a new spot. When we got there, we saw a monk seal swimming around and some warnings about it attacking people. We got in and hoped for the best. We swam about 50 yds when I noticed that monk seal was swimming around us. She started nuzzling against us and hugging us with her fins. Scot was so freaked that we cut short our dive after about 10 minutes and swam back to the pier where we jumped in. She followed us to the pier and was hugging my leg as I got out of the water. Then, she jumped on the pier with us and wanted to follow me back the the car. We called our wives and let them know about the monk seal and they drove down 40 minutes later.

We spent the rest of the morning snorkeling and having this monk seal play with us in the water. She liked Candy a lot and followed her back to the pier also. Tried to get out when Candy got out, but the tide was lower so she could not get out.

As it turned out, she was just a lonely monk seal looking for company to play with and was very loving and used to being around humans. We left around 11 am but went back at 5 pm because Scot had forgotten his wetsuit there. She was still there playing with people there.

So I went to Oahu last weekend and my friend Scot took me diving with his wife, Candy. We did our first dive at 100ft on a crashed WWII fighter plane that ran out of gas heading back to the airfield.

Scot tried to fly the plane out again, but it was still out of gas.

At the end, I was feeling the nitrogen narcosis from going down too fast. All smiles and forgot to put my regulator in my mouth.

So we went to our favorite restaurant in Honolulu Chinatown on our 11th wedding anniversary. Legends, next to the canal. We took Scot and Kim with us and all enjoyed a good meal. Candy couldn't make it cause she had to work that day.

And also bought new wheels, or at least close to new wheels. A Honda Accord in great condition with only 54k miles on it. Got it for a very good price and having it shipped to us next week.

I got to go up on Mauna Loa, the biggest volcano on the Hawaiian Island chain this week. I went up with Paul Rollman, who is with the Civil Air Patrol, to check up on a weather station that is located up there and where some communication equipment is located. The air is so clear up there that everything seems in sharper images.

Most of the equipment is located inside these structures. The domes are very clear and clean in this spare environment.

The equipment looks so stark in this environment. We were at the 11,000 ft level so there is very little vegetation at this height.

The Wu Gang

While we were in So Cal visiting my dad, we found an old bw photo taken probably around 1955 of the Wu Gang. The shadiest character is the one on the bottom left with the crooked smile. That is my cousin Tom Wu (wucando@comcast.net) who now lives in Seattle. This is a photo where he looks very much like his son, Alex. Behind him is my dad, CH (Crazy Horse) Wu, next to him is Tom's mother, behind her is his sister, Shirley, and next to her is my mother, Liya Wu. behind Tom is his younger brother, Larry. My brother and I are not in the photo so this must have been taken before my parents were married in 1956.

A year ago in January, it was Sean and Rachel's wedding. On April 3, 2007, it was Sean, Rachel and Evan William.

Sean looks very different too. Debbie almost did not recognize him without his goatee.

Another Daisy update

Well, here is Daisy again, sitting on the chair next to the EPFX device. Somehow, she sensed that we were going to do another session on our friend Jacquie, and she decided that she needed more treatments too. So she cut in line in front of Jacquie, but we told her that J was first and she patiently waited until we were done with J before she came back to sit in the chair for her turn. Daisy is such a sentient being, she knew and just jumped into the chair and said, "here I am!"

After we were done with the session, she came and sat on my lap for a bit to thank me. The last time, we treated her for skin lesions, which turned out to be cat leprosy. Last Monday nite, most of what showed up for her was pelvic inflammation so I worked on her pelvic region for most of the session. She will probably want another one the next time we got to Barbara's. Perhaps I can work in her thru subspace one nite.
If you click on the photo of Daisy, you can really see the kindness and intelligence in her eyes. She definitely knows what is going on.

Mauna Kea and Volcanoes Nat'l Park

On Liz's last full day on the island, we went to Volcnoe's Nat'l Park by way of the Saddle Rd. We had enough time to detour and drive up to the 9,000 ft level and climb a nearby cinder cone. I took her to one of our favorite picnic spots where we could see the view from 9000 ft.

Then, we arrived at the park and drove down to the main crater rim. Took some shots of all the steam coming out of the vents around the rim of the crater. Some very surreal shots of the barren land with all sorts of steam and strange plantlife.

The Magnificent and Irrepressible Scot Johnson came back to Hawaii for Christmas and to celebrate his 37th birthday with us. We all went to Bubba Gump's where he was the life of the restaurant.

Tomorrow morning, we fly to Waikiki Beach on Oahu to meet Jeanne Hannah! Two days of wining and dining in Honolulu. We will stay at the Ilikai, and then come back to the Big Island where Jeanne will house sit next door and feed the cat, Carlos.

Perhaps we will get the opportunity to climb up Diamond Head, which is at the end of Waikiki Beach. I have walked up there with just flip flops on and it is not a hard walk.

So I am going on a whirlwind tour of the Big Island and leaving photos of different areas. Today, I drove up to Hawi and took shots of the airport with the big windmills next to it. Not too many people use this airport because of the trecherous crosswinds that are here. Hence, the windmills.

Here are shots of the runway. Down the road to the airport and off in the distance, you can see Maui.

And some shots of the actual windmills, which are fairly new for this part of the island.

Now, Kinkers needs the EPFX

Today, Barbara came over with her new kitten, Kinkers, who has a feline immune disease called FIP, so we put Kinkers on the biofeedback machine also. Barbara was facing a hard decision to put Kinkers to sleep because she did not want him infecting all the other cats in her home. We also did a google search on FIP and found that it is a genetic disease in cats and not contagious. So Kinkers cannot pass it onto the other cats and so Barbara does not have to put him to sleep anymore.

Kinkers came over and was very quiet in his carrier. He came out to look around our house and then decided it was safer back in his carrier. We needed him still when we ran the session on him so he stayed in the box and slowly relaxed enough so that he slept thru most of his treatment. I have some photos of Kinkers before the onset of his FIP and I heard he slept the rest of the afternoon.

I'm really NOT choking little Kinkers in the 2nd photo. He was just so small and skinny.

Update on Daisy

A few months back, we used our biofeeback program on our friend Barbara's cat, Daisy. She was so sensitive to the EPFX that when we put her on the device, she came over and sat quietly next to the computer and watched us the whole time we worked on her. We did a few sessions to work on her skin. Barbara found out that Daisy had feline leprosy and today, she is completely better from her leprosy. Her skin has grown back and her fur is nice and shiny. She used to always come out to visit with us whenever we went over to Barbara's house for dinner. Now, she only comes around occasionally. I will include a photo of Daisy when she had the leprosy. (Good thing it is not contagious to humans).

Surviving the BIG EARTHQUAKE on the BIG ISLAND

Wow, what a day today has been. I moved here back in 1999 and have never felt something this big. Not even living in California. Our day started around 6:30 am. I went thru my usual routine of making coffee and turning on my computer to check email. This morning, I also had an item to bid on eBay that would end at 7:45 am. Got my coffee and sat at the computer reading email and checking on this eBay item.

At 7:07, we felt a small rattle in our new home and I thought, “Oh, a small earthquake.” Well, unlike the earthquakes I have been thru in CA which has a lot of swaying from side to side, our house felt like someone picked it up and started shaking it harder and harder. I just had time to tell Debbie, “Get out of the house.” So we ran out of the house onto our unlandscaped yard next to our car. The car started shaking up and down even worse and it was the scariest shaker I have ever been thru. We stood outside a few minutes and saw all our neighbors outside also, every checking to see if others were ok. We are all new in our neighborhood so we only knew a few people.

We started to clean up the house and at about 10:30, there was another shaker and we had to run out of the house again. We just learned tonite that the power automatically goes off at the power stations when motion sensors are tripped. Also found out later that the first one was a 6.6 and the second one was a 4.9 magnitude. It FELT like close to an 8.0 because we were only about 20 miles from the epicenter which was just out in the ocean west of us. Fortunately, our new house came thru with very minor damage. Only a few things fell out of the cupboards and we heard of some neighbors who has everything come out of their cabinets. We also heard that Honolulu on Oahu, about 200 mi away, lost most of their power and there are parts that are still without power tonite. Our power came back on about 1:30 pm. We had planned to go into town today, but most folks were staying close to home after something like this. There were also numerous aftershocks thruout the afternoon each one getting smaller but always feeling like another signal to run outside.

Ken and Barbara came over for dinner and we had a nice, very impromptu dinner, mostly cold dishes and pleasant conversation. There was some speculation of what Madame Pele was up to but also wonder at how the epicenter was NW of where we live and how all the active volcanoes are SE of us too. Perhaps there is a new vent opening up under the ocean. Most of all, we look at is as pressure being released by the earth so that we don’t have to have the “Mother of all Earthquakes.” And NO tsunamis, thanks god.

Budapest

8. Go to Budapest this Fall with my honey and meet the inventor of the QXCI, Bill Nelson and learn from the master.

9. Take a month to travel in Europe if we go to Budapest. I haven’t been to any of the Eastern Block countries and had no interest until recently. Of course, there is lots of history there and I do feel like I’ve had more past lives in Europe than in China. Many parts of France and Greece felt very familiar and even the people there often greeted me as if they knew me.

Rainbows in Hawaii

We drove over to Hilo today on the Saddle Road. Aptly named because it is the road btwn two main volcanos here on the Big Island. There was supposed to be a big storm out in the Pacific that was supposed to have dwindled to nothing. Well it rained pretty consistently over in Hilo. When we came back over the Saddle Rd, we saw this excellent rainbow about halfway back. Just getting out of the rain clouds for a bit. We are probably at the 5-6k ft level. Going further, it started to rain again and by the time we got home, it was raining buckets. Got out and played in the rain with my neighbor, Rob and his kids as they were playing in the parking lot and the little rivers of runoff.

So at the end of the 2nd day of training, we all decided to have a little celebration with Levi at his condo overlooking Kailua Bay. The cruise ship had left and the canoe boats were coming back in. We had pupu's that evening and Levi even had time to play with our higher centers.

Even tho he was tired, Levi had time to pull out his Atlantean crystals, do a spread for us and charge everyone with a boost of energy and make an offering to Pele at the same time.

After a hard day of QXCI training, Levi relaxes on his lanai with a brewski and continues to work on other clients.

The Multi-Talented QXCI Trainer in Kona, Hawaii

Learning the Quantum Xrroid biofeedback program

has been challenging and rewarding. As we learn more, I get to understand more. This past weekend, we had another talented instructor come from the Mainland to give us a class and he summarized the procedure and made it easy and thorough. Now, we can follow his protocols, which are suited for non-medical professionals, and learn to use it more before we decide what areas we would like to specialize in. This program is so sophisticated and flexible that the inventor likens it to creating a piano and the individual users then compose their own music on it. Everyone can do something different and it all contributes to the greater whole. This is an amazing new wave in alternative medicine and I feel we are at the beginning of it’s expansion and acceptance around the world.

You can pretty much put anything you like into sushi rolls, or nigiri, with the little rice turds uncerneath. Very fresh and healthy food and visually appealing. The specialty in Hawaii is Spam masubi, which is a large roll with a slice of spam wrapped in seaweed. Delicious for those who do not have an issue about Spam.

Does a 10 Year Anniversary Count?

I did something new today. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a nice dinner out at Bubba Gumps. We also spent the day in a training class with a wunderkid from Kansas who was teaching us the latest procedures, shortcuts and info on our QXCI/SCIO biofeedback device. So instead of sitting on a nice beach sipping mai tai’s, which we can do any day, we sat in a hot classroom expanding our knowledge of a wonderful, fascinating and powerful program to relieve stress, pain and promote relaxation.

So the latest additions to Barbara managerie of animals is the two kitties she is being a foster mom to until they are old enough to be adopted; perhaps by us.

This is Kinkers, with the kinky tail and the other one is an orange cat called Hokulea; for shooting star.

when you make small wishes that are almost impossible and they come true. Like two weeks ago, we were visiting in Honolulu and parked in a crowded parking lot next to our hotel. The first nite, I had gotten a really great parking space right next to the elevators. We left the next day and drove around. Then, came back late in the afternoon and I told my wife, “Wouldn’t it be nice if we got that same parking space again?” And viola, it was open again. It’s those small moments of wishingmaking that make me believe in magic and then I ask, “How can I apply this to other parts of our lives?”

QXCI in Hawaii

Debbie and I are becoming more adept at using this complex biofeedback, relaxation program that uses radionics to scan people and send them healing vibes. This is a remarkable system and we have done scans on family members that live in California and Washington. We have also worked on friends here in Hawaii and recently we did a session on a woman from TX who we met at the airport. She has reported amazing results and has an energetic instrument of her own.

This week, I am going to try to run a scan on a young boy born in Russia who has some birth defects. We are trying to arrange a way to get feedback from the mother who lives in Russia also. This will be an interesting exercise.

Diving in Hawaii

Such nice warm waters in Hawaii. We did this dive near my house. I love the sensation of floating in the ocean, akin to flying and we were at the edge of the coral where you can just stare off into the abyss of sand and water.

My dive buddy is a maring biologist and we found some lobster shells. The caption of this one is, "that ho didn't give me crabs, she gave me lobsters!"
My buddy did find live lobsters too but did not tell me about them until we got out of the water. He knows I love lobsters - with a little butter and lemon. Oh well, have to go diving with someone who is not a conservationist.

I think the principle of “like attracts like” applies here. I would love to meet Calia and her husband here in Hawaii or in England, or both. I find her also warm-hearted, inspirational and a very grounded old soul and probably an entity mate.
Very cute picture Calia. I can see you at the shoreline swimming with turtles and feeding them sea grass out of your hands. I’d love the opportunity to introduce you to them when you come out for a visit.
One day, we will create a healing center out here and you can come stay for extended periods swim with dolphins, etc.

Didn't find lobsters

but went on two dives down at the Two Step last week. Both dives where cut short by equipment malfunctions as my other buddies both had leaky tank and leaky BC which caused them to lose air quickly. The buddy with the leaking BC was a little more scary as it caused him to sink even tho he was adding air to his compensator continuously. He had to hang onto me when we came to the surface to try and repair his BC.

I have some nice photos a friend took but hasn’t sent to me yet.

Pet Gecko

Here is a photo of our pet gecko, Jeff, who lives behind stuff on the walls. He hangs out mostly in the living room, probably eating moths and roaches, and stares down any other geckos that come onto his turf. He got a little scared with the flash, but then jumped from one wall to the other and made Debbie jump too!

Here is a closeup of Jeff, waiting for his next meal. We hope that he does not crawl into one of the roach motels for a free lunch or dinner.

I guess I am not too sure where to start. This is one of those similar to live passionately goals. I guess I have not felt enthused about work, not having a consistent job the past few years, that I am in some confusion as to what work I would love to do. I did volunteer as a mediator in my community and felt a sense of fulfillment and enjoyment when I could work out a nice compromise with two groups in a dispute. But I don’t know if that is the sort of job that I could end up making a decent living at.

Anyone else have ideas on the search for meaningful work that one would love to do?

What Life Plan?

I guess I have strayed a bit from the main topic. A few days ago, another friend asked me over the phone “What is your plan?” I struggled a bit and had forgotten what my articulated plan was. For the record, our plan (wifey and I) is, “To stay flexible and open to opportunities that come our way, take advantage of the opportunites that are presented to us, create our spiritual community in whatever form it shows up, and have fun along the way.”

We were planning on moving back to the West Coast last Summer due to the poor work opportunities here, but also realized that some of our investments here were really turning out better than we expected. We also realized that our tax consequences would be much less if we lived in our new home for 2 years at least and then decide if we wanted to move somewhere else, or stay in Hawaii. These days, Madame Pele seems to be smiling on us.

Waterfall update...

We had the waterfall photo on our computer desk behind the wall facing our career side in the feng shui chart. We also had an older pc we wanted to sell and had it set up just below the photo to clear all the old files off of it. I did not realize that it was sitting under the photo of the waterfall. When we listed the pc for sale, it sold in about 3 days. Now, it might have been a coincidence, but it might have been that letting the pc sit under the waterfaill helped aid the sale of it. Perhaps someone else should try that and see if it works with something they want to sell off. I would love to so hear if anyone else had similar results as we did with photos or stuff under their waterfall photo.

Thursday was moving man day

Even tho our new house will not be done for about another 60 days, my friend Michael went down to Lowes and found a deal on 2 refrigerators. They were $1400 units marked down 50% because someone changed their mind. These are da kine that have the freezer on the bottom and the regular part on top. Makes so much more sense. The catch to this deal was that when you buy them at this rate, you have to take them away that day. I tried to wait for the Lowes rental truck, but then found out that it was occupied all day. Then, I called around and finally found a friend who had a truck to loan me. Then, it was call around to see if anyone could go up to where our new house was being built to help me unload.

Well, eventually, I just decided to drive up there at around 3:00pm and hope for the best. I had to unload it with just a little help from another woman who was the agent that sold me the house. We settled on storing it in the model home’s garage, since our house was not yet ready.

So what I did differently today was to be a one man fridge moving company. Yadee yada yada…..

My workout today

Was throwing kids into the pool. My neighbors kids, 9 and 6 were playing in the pool today at our complex and when I got in, it was, “Oh throw me, throw me!” So that was my little workout today, throwing kids around in the pool and putting them over my shoulder and spinning them around like they do in the WWF. I never watch it, but have occasionally glimpsed them spinning each other around and then throwing each other onto the mats. Looks like a lot of fun. Even the fake pain.

and I agreed on 11 years ago was that we wanted a natural birth for our son. He was 2 weeks late when we finally went into the hospital and the midwife told her that if she did not give birth soon, they would have to induce labor or a c-section.
After three long days of labor, our son was finally born on Oct 24, 1994 at about 12:07 am. I got to catch him when he came into the world and it was very fitting that as his father, I would welcome him into the world. All dads should do this.

OK, Feng shui experiment for my group

Here is a feng shui (Chinese geomancy) remedy for all those who want to enhance the wealth and career aspect of their lives. I am uploading two photos of waterfalls going in different directions. The experiment involves printing out either one of the photos and putting it by your front door. If anyone has a wall besides the front door, that would be a good place to put it the photo. Make sure that the photo is situated in such a way that it shows the waterfall FLOWING INTO YOUR HOUSE. This is a sign of abundance coming into your home.

Print out a nice color version of this photo and try it for a week. I would be very interested in hearing from all the members who try this on what results they get. If there are any unexpected windfalls of cash, or new career opportunities that show up. Another feng shui consultant said that when you put the photo up, it is good to let your guides and angels know exactly what you want, and not make them guess. If you want a new career or better job, ask for that. If you want an unexpected windfall of money, ask for that too. Or, maybe you want your mattress to explode and all the cash hidden rains down on you!!!

A good place to start looking at Intentional Communities is at the official webstie, www.ic.org. You can subscribe to their magazine or just read articles online. We subscribed to it about 8 years ago and I learned so much about communities of the past, which ones survived and those that did not and why. And there was very good coaching on how to start one now and what criteria to set. The most important thing is to get a core group together with a common vision. The two greatest obstacles to maintaining a community is “creating consensus” and (not surprisingly) dogs. Those were the big deal breakers in communities today.

Yesterday...

Well, when I started this new task yesterday, I had to main options and it looks like “starting a new internet business” won out. I talked with a friend who has a budding business in Hawaii selling sarongs at local stores. He has a special niche and I asked him if he would be willing to sell them over the internet since my wife and I design websites.
This goal has really sparked some movement in me. Tues nite, we went to an internet marketing presentation where they urged us to sign up for a training class (that we had already taken) and their primary pharse was, “take action today.” That is a good paradigm because I have been contemplating starting more businesses over the internet, but have not gotten off the couch to do so.
So today, we begin the task of designing the interface, setting up hosting, shopping carts and credit card over the internet. That should be challenging since we have not done that degree of website setup before.
Another different thing I did yesterday was changing where I sit at the dinner table. We have a very good friend we share dinner with at least once a week. We go up to her home, prepare a gourmet meal and then sit on her balcony that looks down the coast onto the ocean and we always sit in the same places. Last nite, I sat where our friend Barbara usually sits and has her sit where I usually sit. Just a minor change, but who knows what will come of it.
A hui ho and I hope you all make some big or small changes in your behavior. But I also applaud those who do not want to change and are happy with their current results. Whoever that one person might be… LOL

Insanity

Scuba certification

Yeah, about 3 years ago, I got certified. Not only did I get my certificate, I wanted to have someone I knew teach me in almost a private setting. Well, someone in my church in Hawaii showed up and said, I can certify you and even tho I was supposed to do my first dives in a pool, or pool like conditions, my friend took me down to the City of Refuge on the Big Island and we did our first dives there. What a blast. I was very familiar with the City of Refuge and there was a formation in the lava rock along the shoreline that looks like 2 steps into the ocean. It was called, 2 Step. Diving in Hawaii spoils you cause it is so warm and the visibility is so sharp. I have only gone diving in Hawaii and I guess I would not want to dive in really cold conditions that require a lot of extra equipment. That might make me a weenie, but so be it. Do they have a Scuba Weenie patch?

Life Plan as a road map

I can’t remember who it was a few days ago who wrote that having a life plan was like having a road map for your life. I like the road map analogy but with slight modifications. I shall combine the road map analogy and add that having a road map let’s you see that there are many routes to the same place.

I feel that for most of us, we are all going to the same place and can take many different roads to get there. There is usually a safe, straight route directly there that involves little risk. Then, there are the rougher routes over unpaved roads that are more challenging, might require a 4×4, some camping and more pit stops along the way to change tires and all that. There are also the more circuitous routes that might take one by lakes, over mountains and such with much more scenery and a longer road with more twists and turns to get to the final destination.

Some feel that the final destination is the most important goal. I personally feel that it is the journey getting there that is more important and having some fun and adventure along the way makes the journey worthwhile. I’d like to stop at all the good roadside diners and sample the cuisine from different regions along the way. Get out and hike in the mountains or swim in a remote lake along the way. In fact, I did that last Fall when my wife and I drove from Sacramento to Seattle. I stopped at one of my favorite destinations, Mt Shasta, along the way and took a dip in a nearby lake. There is no one road that is better than all the other roads. Some raods will take us to unintended places, like jail or a hospital, for ahwile. But having the map, or widsom and maturity, will let each of us see the obstacles that are coming when we choose one road over another. So my wish is that everyone chooses a road filled with adventure, fun and finds a good driving partner to share the ride.

Oh, and mke sure you keep an eye out for rainbows along the way.
